Ryan had the pleasure and opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing private companies in America. TopGolf has brought their world class, high end technology golf driving range to Miami Gardens. This driving range is an interactive three tiered golf center where you hit golf balls that are microchipped out into a field that records your distance and when they land in one of the targets you are rewarded with points for each part of the target the ball lands in. The six acre site needed some light clearing, stripping of the topsoil, grading, then proof rolling the building pad and parking lot areas. Next we installed three separate drainage systems. One shallow, one deep system and a third system for the parking lot areas. The deeper system requires a drainage pump station similar to a sanitary lift station. The deeper drainage system is connected to ten of the eleven targets. The targets are circular and constructed of concrete. The largest tagets have a diameter of 76’. They range in depth from several feet deep to approximately twelve feet deep. Next we installed the water and sanitary sewer. We built specialized manhole hatches that connect into a 54″ RCP pipe that allows the employees to enter inside the various targets collecting the golf balls using the unique vacuum system. After the utilities were finished we installed the 12″ thick LBR 40 compacted subgrade plus a 4″ thick compacted turf base below the target area. After the targets are formed and poured we graded the turf field areas for the artificial grass installation, constructed the sidewalks, and finished the parking lots with curbs and gutters.
